Description
Twelve-year-old Cory Avalon's life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers his magical abilities in an abandoned building. Recognized as a rare magus, Cory is apprenticed to learn how to control his powers before they overwhelm him. Under the guidance of his master, Math the Ancient, Cory rapidly develops his skills, mastering spells such as hurling magical lightning and turning invisible. However, with great power comes great responsibility, and Cory soon finds himself on a perilous journey to defeat an evil force. Cory's quest is set in motion by a mysterious enchanter named Vainamoinen, who lives in an enchanted fortress floating in the clouds. This beautifully crafted tale draws upon rich Welsh and Finnish mythology, weaving a complex narrative that explores the boundaries between magic and reality.
