Description

The Depth of the Landscape by Jean-Pierre Pranlas-Descours explores the intricate relationship between landscape and architecture. This book delves into 16 projects, examining how they reflect specific site conditions and the impact this has on our understanding of nature. Historically, the connection between landscape and architecture has shaped culture and human settlement development. However, in recent decades, generic architecture has led to a homogenization of territories' appearances, altering our perception of nature and landscape. French architect Jean-Pierre Pranlas-Descours's work continues to articulate this relationship, offering insights into how design can engage with the natural environment. This collection of projects provides a unique perspective on the intersection of landscape and architecture, inviting readers to consider the complex interplay between built environments and their surroundings.
