Description
The Crazy Gang: A Soccer Miracle In 1977, Wimbledon FC was promoted to the Football League, a small team from south London that defied odds to reach the top. Against all expectations, they went on to win the FA Cup in just over a decade. At the heart of this remarkable story were two men: Dave "Harry" Bassett and Wally Downes. Bassett was a manager who instilled a fierce fighting spirit into his players, while also pioneering innovative training methods. Downes was the midfield fulcrum, but also the ringleader for the team's off-field antics. This book tells the story of The Crazy Gang, a true piece of football history that will appeal to anyone interested in the sport.
