Description

The Complete Angler is a timeless celebration of the art and spirit of fishing, written in prose and verse. First published in 1653, it has been a cherished companion for anglers for centuries, with its author continuing to add to it for over a quarter of a century.

The book is a unique blend of instruction and reflection, with six verses quoted from John Dennys's 1613 work The Secrets of Angling. Dedicated to John Offley, its most honoured friend, it has been reprinted numerous times, with the final edition published in 1676. This edition includes twenty-one chapters, plus a second part written by Charles Cotton, who completed Walton's instruction in fly fishing and the making of flies.
