Description
The City as Architecture explores how architecture shapes urban spaces. By applying specific architectural means in a creative way, cities can be designed to be lived in and experienced in three dimensions. This new edition builds upon the original work, "Architecture of the City", and presents a comprehensive repertoire of architectural elements that can inform an 'architectonic turn' in urbanistics. The focus is on understanding the city as a whole, rather than just its individual buildings. By examining the relationship between architecture and urban design, this book offers insights into how cities can be designed to better serve their inhabitants.
