Description

Sir Clinton Driffield reappears in this Golden Age mystery novel. A young land owner, Colin Keith-Westerton, and his new bride settle into the Dower House, awaiting modernisation of the mansion Silver Grove. Shortly after their arrival, one of Keith-Westerton's keepers is found dead by the lake side, shot in what appears to be a gun accident. As Sir Clinton investigates, he discovers valuable pearls near the body, suggesting that something more sinister was at play. The mystery deepens as Mrs. Keith-Westerton disappears on the night of the murder and a mysterious figure, Save-Your-Soul Sawyer, becomes entangled in the case. The Boat-House Riddle is a classic Golden Age mystery novel, now reissued with an introduction by Curtis Evans.
