Description

The Beresford is a grand old apartment building just outside the city, where everything stays the same for its tenants until the doorbell rings. Will Carver returns with an eerie and dark standalone thriller that's both humorous and unsettling.

For one of its residents, Mrs May, every day follows a routine: a cup of cold coffee in the morning, pruning roses, checking on her tenants, wine, prayer, and an afternoon nap. She never leaves the building. Meanwhile, another resident, Abe Schwartz, has just killed his housemate, Sythe, and is waiting for the next unsuspecting soul to arrive at the door.

When Blair Conroy rings the doorbell to her new home, Abe will answer, and they'll become friends - or perhaps something more. But when one of them dies, there will be sixty seconds to move the body before the next unknowing soul arrives. This is a stunning standalone thriller from Will Carver, with a superbly twisted plot that's both enthralling and appalling.
