Description

The Ancient Egyptian Pyramid Texts, Second Edition by James P. Allen A comprehensive translation of ancient Egyptian religious texts from six royal pyramids, now revised and updated to reflect recent advances in understanding the language. This collection provides sequential translations based on all available sources, including newly discovered texts from the last decade. The translations reflect the atemporal verbal system of Old Egyptian, conveying a timeless quality that the text's authors intended. The book features numbered texts according to the most widely used numbering system, with new numbers included in the latest 2013 concordance. With this edition, readers can gain insight into the oldest corpus of ancient Egyptian religious texts, shedding light on the culture and beliefs of one of history's earliest civilizations.
