Description

The Amazing Test Match Crime by Adrian Alington is set against the backdrop of 1938 England, as the final Test Match against Imperia draws near. In the village of Wattlecombe Ducis, Glebeshire, the fate of the Ashes hangs in the balance. A young man named Joe Prestwick has a chance to win the heart of Monica, the vicar's daughter, by playing at the Oval. However, Europe's most wanted gang, The Bad Men, have other plans. Led by Sawn-off Carlo, The Professor and Ralph the Disappointment, they aim to strike a blow at the heart of proud Albion. A wicked yet affectionate comedy of cricketing and criminal manners, this book proves that a straight bat and nimble spinning finger will always win through.
