Description

Paul Rossiter's Temporary Measures gathers poems from 1978 to 1981, exploring themes of performance and everyday life. Set in London and beyond, these poems reflect on music, dance, and the mundane, as well as journeys to France, China, Kuwait, Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece. Performance is a recurring motif, whether it's the sound of music, the movement of dance, or the quiet routines of daily life. The poems also touch on the intersections of art and everyday experience, reflecting Rossiter's interest in the ways people make meaning in their lives. This collection continues the story begun in his earlier work, Seeing Sights 1968-1978, offering a new perspective on the world through the lens of poetry.
