Description
The history of Susquehanna County is revealed in this comprehensive guide, tracing the settlement and development of the region from its early days to the present.
Following the Revolutionary War, veterans settled in the area, establishing thriving agricultural communities that took advantage of the natural resources available. The landscape, characterized by rolling hills, clear lakes, and mountain streams, provides a scenic backdrop for the small communities that have grown up within it.
The influence of emigrants from New England is evident in the larger towns, which feature neat white houses and tree-lined streets reminiscent of the Northeast. This book offers a detailed look at the history of Susquehanna County, making it an ideal resource for anyone interested in local history or the region's rich heritage.
