Description
Super Grandpa by David Schwartz brings to life an incredible true story. In 1951, Gustaf Håkansson defied expectations and rode his bicycle over 1,000 miles in the Tour of Sweden, finishing first despite being barred from official entry due to his age. This inspiring tale is narrated with zest and enhanced by sound effects and traditional Swedish music, making it a captivating listen for children aged 4 and up. The story also celebrates Gustaf's achievement as a role model who shattered stereotypes about the elderly, inspiring generations to pursue their dreams. A notable social studies trade book, Super Grandpa has been selected by several award-winning organisations, including the Smithsonian's Notable Books for Children and the Junior Library Guild Selection.
