Description
Sunset Boulevard is a landmark film that embodies Hollywood's vision of itself. Written by Billy Wilder and Charles Brackett, with D. M. Marshman Jr., this screenplay offers a pungent critique of the industry's excesses and neuroses. The collaboration behind Sunset Boulevard resulted in a film praised for its "rare blend of writing, acting, direction, and photography". The movie was nominated for Best Picture, and Wilder won an Academy Award for his work on the screenplay. This facsimile edition allows readers to appreciate the intelligence and craftsmanship that went into creating this iconic film. Jeffrey Meyers's introduction provides valuable background information on Wilder, the film's production, and the lives of those involved in its creation.
