Description
A woman moves to a remote northern country to care for her brother after his wife leaves him. She has spent her life attending to the needs of many siblings, smoothing away discomfort with perfect obedience and devotion.
As she settles into her new role, a series of strange events occurs, including collective bovine hysteria and a local dog's phantom pregnancy. The community seems to be suspicious of her, accusing her of wrongdoing in a language she cannot understand.
Despite her diligent efforts to care for her brother and the home, he begins to fall ill, and the woman feels the hostility growing around her. This is a story about the power of silence, obedience, and the complexities of human relationships.
