Description
Striking For Ford offers a unique perspective on one of Britain's most tumultuous periods: the 1978 winter of discontent. Set against the backdrop of a polarised society, this memoir provides an insider's view of life in a militant Liverpool car factory during that time.
The author recounts their experiences as a trainee personnel officer amidst strikes, public service disruptions and social unrest, including petrol queues and high unemployment rates. A fascinating glimpse into a bygone era, Striking For Ford sheds light on the unexpected downfall of a socialist government in May 1979.
