Description

Storming the Gap First Strike reveals the explosive origins of the Third World War and delves into the opening salvos of the conflict between NATO and the Warsaw Pact in 1985. A range of viewpoints are used, from decision-makers in Washington to those fighting on the front lines in southern Germany. The story is set against the backdrop of a surprise Soviet attack that catches NATO off guard, forcing them to hastily deploy their men and tanks to protect key bridges over the Fulda River. The fate of the Fulda Gap hangs in the balance as the two sides clash in intense armor battles. This first volume of a series offers a pulse-pounding narrative of mechanized combat, which can be enjoyed on its own or as part of a larger wargame experience.
