Description
STARS is an Afrofuturist odyssey that explores one woman's quest for her own orgasm. After losing her husband, Mrs embarks on a journey to find what she believes all orgasms go to: outer space.
Along the way, she encounters three pivotal moments that spark her journey: a secret shared with a young neighbour, an old friend who reveals her intersex identity, and a chance encounter in a launderette. Told through live DJ performances and creative captions, this play is both moving and joyful, sensitive yet funny.
Written by internationally acclaimed theatre maker Mojisola Adebayo, STARS was published to coincide with the Tamasha and ICA co-production in April 2023. This edition features animations by Candice Purwin.
