Description

In 1995, the town of Srebrenica was taken over by Bosnian-Serb forces, leading to atrocities that have been compared to those of the Second World War. A trial in The Hague followed, with Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic being accused of war crimes. Nicolas Kent's play is based on the verbatim text of these hearings, creating a gripping and horrifying account of the events. This play is part of a series of Tricycle Tribunal Plays published by Oberon Books, which also includes The Colour of Justice - The Stephen Lawrence Inquiry, Justifying War - The Hutton Inquiry and Bloody Sunday. The play's text is supplemented with newspaper articles and other background material, making it a useful resource for anyone studying the events of July 1995.
