Description
Spinegrinder: One man's ambitious attempt to make sense of over a century of exploitation and cult cinema. The rise of home entertainment has transformed the way we consume horror and exploitation movies. With so many sources available, today's fan may not be familiar with the Universal classics or Hammer films that once dominated the genre. Instead, they may discover hidden gems through online streaming services, including internet-based platforms and peer-to-peer networks. This shift in consumption habits has led to a lack of understanding about the paths well-trodden by horror and exploitation cinema. This book is an exhaustive and obsessive attempt to make sense of this vast and often overlooked world of cult cinema. With over 8,000 reviews, it offers a unique perspective on the lives and works of those who have shaped the genre.
