Description
Edith Stein explores the concept of empathy in her seminal work. In 1916, she presented an extensive phenomenological study on the topic, which was later published as "Sobre el problema de la empatía". Stein examines the nature of subjective consciousness and its relationship with alterity, questioning whether a purely self-referential perspective can fully grasp the complexities of human experience. Stein's work delves into the structure of both the empathizer and the person being empathized with, shedding light on the intricate dynamics at play. Her investigation raises fundamental questions about the nature of consciousness and its capacity to understand others. This book offers a thought-provoking exploration of empathy and its significance in human experience.
