Description
Sixty Years of Airfix Models tells the story of one of the most iconic model companies in history. From its humble beginnings in 1955 with the first Airfix aircraft kit, to its current status as a leading manufacturer of high-quality models, this book takes you on a journey through the years.
The company has undergone many changes over the decades, but its commitment to producing excellent models has remained constant. In 2006, Hornby Hobbies Ltd took over and invested heavily in the range, resulting in a new era of innovation and excellence. Today, Airfix releases around twenty new kits per year, designed to an incredibly high standard.
Published to coincide with the sixtieth anniversary of the first Airfix aircraft kit, this book provides a detailed account of the company's history, from its early days to the present day. With its unique blend of nostalgia and insight into the model-making process, Sixty Years of Airfix Models is a must-have for anyone interested in models, aviation, or the history of popular culture.
