Description

The Six Silent Men: A Vietnam War Story In 1965, nearly 400 men were interviewed for the infant LRRP Detachment of the 101st Airborne Division. Only 32 were selected, earning them the nickname "suicide unit". The LRRPs relied on each other 110 percent, as one false step or mistake could mean sudden death for all. Author Reynel Martinez, a veteran of the 101st LRRP Detachment, takes us into the lives and battles of these extraordinary men. He shares their courage, sacrifice, and sense of loss when one of their own dies. The LRRPs fought in some of the most challenging environments - the hills, valleys, and triple-canopy jungles of Vietnam. Their stories are a testament to the bravery and camaraderie that defined this elite unit.
