Description
Simone Weil was a philosopher, theologian, critic, sociologist and political activist whose work spanned a wide range of subjects. This anthology brings together a generous collection of her writings, including essays that have never been translated into English before, alongside many others that were previously out of print. A longtime scholar of Simone Weil's work, Sian Miles has carefully selected essays to represent the breadth of her intellectual pursuits. The result is an introduction that places Weil's writing in context, shedding light on both her life and the times in which she wrote. This collection offers a unique opportunity to engage with one of the most brilliant and original minds of 20th-century France, whose work continues to be studied and appreciated today.
