Description
Shuck 'n' Jive is a powerful and humorous story about two friends trying to break free from racist typecasting. Opera singer Simone and actress Cassi are desperate to be seen as individuals, not defined by the colour of their skin. With songs and searing honesty, they take control of their own narrative. As they navigate the audition room, they face a harsh reality: London is not the BNP-free utopia they'd imagined. But instead of giving up, they decide to write their own story. The result is a laugh-out-loud tale that shines a light on the struggles of racism and identity. Through its unflinching honesty and infectious energy, Shuck 'n' Jive offers a fresh perspective on the challenges faced by black women in the arts.
