Description

Lars Peter Hansen's photographic business at Cardiff Docks played a significant role in capturing the nation's maritime history. Between 1920 and 1975, his son Leslie, along with Lars Peter, took over 4,500 photographs of ships at the docks. This collection has been preserved by the Welsh Industrial and Maritime Museum. The book reproduces some of these images, offering a unique glimpse into shipping activity at Cardiff's premier port during its heyday. The photographs are a testament to the Hansens' work, which has left a lasting pictorial record of Wales' industrial past. Published in 2013, this volume is a tribute to Lars Peter and Leslie Hansen, who through their photography have bequeathed to Wales a valuable historical archive.
