Description
Sheila Florance - On The Inside A life of drama and passion, Sheila Florance's story is one of contrasts. From her early ambitions as a Shakespearean actress to her iconic role as Lizzie Birdsworth in the cult TV soapie Prisoner, her journey was marked by both triumph and tragedy. This intimate portrait, written by her daughter-in-law and confidante Helen Martineau, offers a fascinating glimpse into Florance's public career and behind-the-scenes upheavals. With unflinching honesty, Martineau reveals the complexities of a woman who battled for justice and supported women, yet struggled with her own demons. A deeply personal biography that sheds light on Florance's life, this book is a worthwhile read for anyone interested in the stories of strong-willed women who refused to be defined by convention.
