Description

Based on a true event, Shadow tells the story of one man's journey to understand the harsh realities of life on the streets. A therapist for thirty years, Dr. Michael J. Manley embarked on an experiment to experience homelessness firsthand, discovering that the struggles faced by African Americans in the US are all too real.

Manley's experiences led him to write about his life adjusting to retirement after a lifetime of working as a therapist at a veterans' hospital in Los Angeles County. This eighth book from the author of seven novels explores themes of inequality and social justice, shedding light on the challenges faced by many communities.

A unique blend of memoir and social commentary, Shadow offers a thought-provoking look at the human experience. With his diverse writing background, Manley brings a nuanced perspective to this important story.
