Description

First published in the 1940s, this work by historian Joel Augustus Rogers challenges the concept of race and racial differentiation. Rogers argues that sociological factors, rather than biological differences, are the root of ethnic distinctions.

Through a vast amount of research, Rogers gathered and presented a wealth of uncollected history of black people, with the aim of integrating these neglected parts of history into the mainstream body of Western history. He believed that people are one large family without racial boundaries, and marshals his data to support this humanistic thesis.

Originally self-trained and self-published, Rogers' work was highly influential during his time, even being cited by notable figures. The books in this series are presented here in their original editions, offering a unique insight into the author's ideas and research.
