Description
Leith has played a significant role in Scotland's history, serving as the major port for Edinburgh and witnessing many pivotal events. From royal arrivals to civil war, the town has seen it all.
The 1950s marked the end of an era for Leith's historic thoroughfares, with many of its old streets disappearing over the next decade. Yet, despite this change, the town remains proud of its individuality and sense of identity.
Local author Jack Gillon delves into Leith's past in Secret Leith, offering insight into some of the lesser-known aspects of its long history.
