Description
The Seattle-Everett Interurban Railway A 29-year history of transportation in the Pacific Northwest. In 1908, the Boston firm of Stone and Webster acquired the existing Seattle-Everett Interurban Railway Company. Their goal was to build an interurban electric railway system that would connect Olympia, Washington, and Vancouver, British Columbia. The Seattle north link was completed with the inaugural run on April 30, 1910, starting in Everett. The trolley operated for nearly three decades, carrying passengers and freight to nearly 30 stops along its 29-mile route. Its final run ended on February 20, 1939, when it left Everett for the last time.
