Description
Sir Jimmy Savile's death in 2011 was met with widespread celebration for his charity work. However, an ITV investigation into his behavior, Exposure: The Other Side of Jimmy Savile, revealed a different story. The documentary exposed the true nature of the popular TV personality, who had allegedly sexually abused numerous young women. The allegations sparked a wave of reports from other alleged victims, leading to police investigations and the potential identification of hundreds of victims. Several British institutions have been criticized for their handling of abuse allegations during Savile's career, including the BBC and the Department of Health. This book provides a well-researched look at how a predatory pedophile was able to evade detection for so long. The author's in-depth examination sheds light on the failures that allowed Savile's crimes to go unchecked, leading to a breach of trust on a national scale.
