Description
Sarah Sze Fallen Sky by Nora R. Lawrence This book commemorates Sarah Sze's new permanent site-specific commission at Storm King Art Center, published with the art center itself. It provides an overview of her work, including her outdoor piece Fallen Sky and its accompanying installation Fifth Season, in relation to her broader practice. The publication includes a discussion between Sarah Sze and artist Katharina Grosse on Fallen Sky and thematic parallels in their respective work. Eight contributing authors from various disciplines respond creatively to Sze's work with original pieces. The book also features photographs of Fallen Sky taken over the course of a year, capturing its dynamic seasonality and the context of Storm King's environment. These images illustrate how the artwork reflects movement and depicts the landscape's behavior and changes over time, its appearance shifting continuously depending on the season, time of day, and weather.
