Description
The Ferenczi-Jones correspondence presents a pivotal moment in the early history of psychoanalysis. Spanning over two decades, this collection of letters and postcards offers insight into the development of the psychoanalytic movement between 1911-1933.
It addresses key issues such as the relationships with prominent figures like Freud, Adler, and Jung, as well as debates on theoretical and technical ideas. The correspondence also touches on problems of leadership, structure, and finding a centre for the psychoanalytical movement, including discussions on telepathy and lay analysis.
This volume provides a nuanced understanding of the complex relationship between Ferenczi and Jones, marked by both cooperation and rivalry. It celebrates the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the British and Hungarian Psychoanalytical Societies in 1913.
