Description
Salki is a deeply personal and historically powerful exploration of memory and identity. In this moving work, the author recounts tragic stories from his family's past, detailing their lives, struggles, and fears in twentieth-century Eastern Europe.
Through a series of essays that delve into the concept of "salkis" - attic rooms where memories and memorabilia are stored - the author investigates the violence of recent times and the complexities of human experience. This is a book that blends past and memory with the present and space, creating a unique landscape of memory.
Translated from Polish for the first time, Salki is a work of literary non-fiction that showcases the author's unique voice and perspective. It is a powerful exploration of the human condition, one that will linger long after the final page has been turned.
