Description

Ruth Wolf-Rehfeldt's artistic practice was marked by experimentation and linguistic exploration. As a self-taught artist working in Concrete Poetry, Dada, and Minimal Art, she used her typewriter to create intricate patterns and abstract compositions. Her collages, often based on ambiguity, continued this theme of play with words and meanings. Published on the occasion of a retrospective at MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam, NICHTS NEUES presents Wolf-Rehfeldt's work in thematic episodes, showcasing her typewritings, prints, collages, and paintings. Although she discontinued her artistic practice after the fall of the Berlin Wall, her art remains relevant today. Wolf-Rehfeldt's nonconformist approach to art explored themes such as environmental issues, intellectual freedom, community, and communication in a poetic and humorous way. Her work continues to reveal unexpected meanings and forms, making it a fascinating insight into her artistic vision.
