Description
Rudolph Ihlee: A Life in Art. This biography explores the career of Rudolph Ihlee, a prize-winning student at the Slade School who turned his back on a promising career in London to find creative freedom and personal contentment in southern France. Ihlee's relocation to Collioure had a profound impact on his art, as it was influenced by the Mediterranean light that inspired artists such as Derain and Matisse. Ihlee's impressive oeuvre is presented here in a lively account of his life and work, shedding new light on an accomplished but under-appreciated artist. The book provides a fascinating insight into Ihlee's journey from student to artist, and the ways in which he found inspiration and fulfillment on the Catalan coast. Hardcover, 128 pages.
