Description

Rosa Branson A Portrait by Lynn Michell is an authorised biography that brings to life the remarkable story of Rosa Branson. Written in a fictionalised style, using extensive conversations and interviews, this book explores Rosa's extraordinary career as a painter, spanning over sixty years. From her early years, shaped by a wartime childhood with communist parents, to her struggles at art school, Rosa's life has been marked by turmoil and transitions. Yet, she persevered, developing a unique style inspired by the Renaissance artists. This biography captures the drama of her formative years, revealing a woman who overcame gender discrimination and scorn to pursue her passion. Through fictionalised scenes, Lynn Michell brings Rosa's story to vivid life, highlighting moments of joy, security, and struggle. For the past twenty years, Rosa has continued to paint, using her art to raise funds for charities through massive storyboards.
