Description
Keri Finlayson's first collection Rooms explores the etymology of words like camera, chamber and stanza, revealing their power to define and exclude. The poet weaves two intertwined narratives: one that reimagines her grandmother as a young woman, surrounded by family stories; another that delves into the history of film from early cave painting to the invention of the camera obscura. Through these narratives, Finlayson examines the intersections of technology, seduction and violence, crafting a unique collection of poems about the spaces we inhabit - rooms, cameras, stanzas.
