Description

Ronald Reagan: An Intellectual Biography by David T. Byrne is a thought-provoking analysis of the former president's political philosophy and policies. This biography delves into the intellectual influences that shaped Reagan's worldview, including the ideas of Plato and Adam Smith. Byrne identifies three key historical forces that informed Reagan's approach to politics: Christian values, the importance of freedom as a core value, and the lessons of World War II. These factors combined to shape his vision for a "Kingdom of Freedom" at home and abroad. This book offers a fresh perspective on Reagan's legacy, one that challenges previous accounts and provides a new model for understanding his presidency.
