Description
Roe Ethridge's American Spirit is a unique collection of photographs that capture the essence of the natural world. The catalogue features 26 images taken by Ethridge during his drive through the Rocky Mountains in January, showcasing timeless vistas where the natural landscape dominates. The photographs are grouped into three-day periods, coinciding with the days before, during, and after the Presidential Inauguration. This juxtaposition raises questions about the relationship between nature and human activity. The images are presented in a way that excludes some of the exhibition's wall-hung pieces, instead focusing on Ethridge's solo journey through the mountains. This book offers a fresh perspective on the intersection of nature and politics, inviting readers to reflect on their own relationship with the environment.
