Ritual Figures in Congo presents a stunning collection of African art from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Figurative sculpture is renowned for its expressive power and has been a significant source of inspiration for artists throughout history. Produced in various materials, including wood, stone, and ivory, these sculptures have been crafted over hundreds, if not thousands, of years. The first official collection of these artworks dates back to 1873. This publication brings together beautiful new images of the collection, showcasing its contemporary significance with a sophisticated touch. Written by Marc Leo Felix, an expert in African art, this book offers a unique insight into the world of ritual figures from Congo.
