Description
Igor Stravinsky's Le sacre du printemps for Orchestra is a groundbreaking work that revolutionized musical language. Premiered in Paris in 1913, it sparked intense reactions among its audience, who were both fascinated and disturbed by the novel rhythms and chordal combinations. This powerful piece has had a profound influence on three generations of composers. Commissioned by Serge Diaghilev for the Ballets Russes, Le sacre du printemps is still widely performed today, with choreography by Nijinsky remaining a favorite among ballet audiences. The score is one of the most recorded modern works in the orchestral repertoire, and this edition faithfully reproduces the full-score Russian edition published in 1965. Ideal for study or following both live and recorded performances, Le sacre du printemps is now available at an affordable price, making it accessible to music lovers.
