Description
Reviving a beloved American folk song, this children's book tells the humorous story of a husband and his impossibly lazy wife. The featured tune features a clever tongue-twister as its chorus, which grows more elaborate and entertaining as the song progresses. The fully notated version is included along with the complete lyrics, providing a detailed history of this cherished narrative. Showcased with wonderful illustrations, this handbook highlights a melody that has been enjoyed since the late 19th century by many famous artists, including Burl Ives, Hedy West, Ed McCurdy, Ian Campbell, Pete Seeger, and Chubby Parker. A downloadable version of the accompanying song is also included, along with guidelines for accessing it.
