Description

André Gide's "Regreso de la U.R.S.S." is a candid account of his disillusionment with the Soviet Union. In 1936, the author traveled to the USSR to witness its promise firsthand, but was left unimpressed by what he saw. Gide's reflections on his experience are marked by extreme lucidity and objectivity, allowing him to convey the disappointment that ultimately led to a re-evaluation of his views. This book provides valuable insight into the complexities of the Soviet experiment and the challenges it faced in the years following its founding. Published in 2017, "Retoques a mi Regreso de la U.R.S.S." offers a unique perspective on one of the most significant events of the 20th century.
