Description

Reena Spaulings is a novel about a young woman's journey from obscurity to international fame. Set in post-9/11 New York City, the story follows a museum guard who becomes a supermodel and finds herself at the centre of a musical revolution. A strange form of civil disobedience sweeps the city, leading to a song-and-dance riot on Broadway. The resulting musical is a generic yet captivating tale about a nobody who can become anyone for everybody. This collective experiment in storytelling explores the themes of identity and community in modern New York City. With its unique blend of fashion, music, and social commentary, Reena Spaulings offers a thought-provoking read for fans of contemporary fiction.
