Description
Radical Lutherans/Lutheran Radicals by Jason A. Mahn explores the intersection of faith and radical politics in the Lutheran Christian tradition. Written by scholars from ELCA colleges, this book delves into the lives and writings of key figures such as Martin Luther, Soren Kierkegaard, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Dorothee Soelle. The authors examine how these theologians drew on core Lutheran themes to inform their critiques of societal norms and advocate for social justice. From resistance to state power to preferential options for the poor, this book highlights the theological resources that underpin radical political participation and transformation. By retrieving Luther's theology in a creative and deeply informed way, Radical Lutherans/Lutheran Radicals offers a compelling vision of how faith can be used to challenge the status quo and create positive change.
