Description

Queer Religiosities: An Introduction to Queer and Transgender Studies in Religion offers a comprehensive and comparative exploration of these rapidly growing fields. Melissa M. Wilcox brings together key concepts from religious studies, queer studies, and transgender studies to provide an accessible introduction.

This book provides a globally focused overview of the history of transgender and queer studies in religion, followed by thematic chapters addressing stories, conversations, practices, identities, communities, and politics and power. With its inherently comparative organization, readers can gain a deeper understanding of how religions, genders, and sexualities are lived out around the world.

Additional resources include study questions, discussion questions, suggestions for further reading, a glossary, an annotated filmography, and a selected bibliography to support further study.
