Description
Richard Elster, a mysterious Pentagon advisor, lives a secluded life in the desert, seeking space and time. His solitude is disrupted by Jim Finley, a young filmmaker obsessed with capturing his most ambitious shot: a fixed frame of Elster's face, as he reveals state secrets and reflects on the Iraq War. As Jessie, Elster's daughter, visits, the dynamics of this unusual gathering are altered. The three spend hours discussing and contemplating the desolate landscape, forming tender yet strange bonds, almost like a makeshift family. However, a devastating truth threatens to jeopardize their relationship.
