Description

Prison Time in Sana'a is a deeply personal account of Dr. Abdulkader Al-Guneid's 300-day incarceration in an Houthi jail in Yemen's capital, shortly after it was taken over by rebels.

Al-Guneid, a medical doctor and outspoken figure on Yemeni politics, had attracted a global following for his unbiased explanations of the conflict. His activism ultimately led to his abduction and imprisonment, where he shared time with American hostages, Houthi fighters, Al-Qaeda militants, and ordinary Yemenis caught up in the chaos of war.

After his release, Al-Guneid wrote about his experience in exhaustive detail from exile in Canada, offering a candid perspective on the Yemen crisis from deep within Houthi-held territory.
