Description
Gilles Deleuze's Presentación de Sacher-Masoch lo frío y lo cruel offers a bold and original exploration of a complex topic. Drawing on the narratives of Sacher-Masoch and Sade, Deleuze examines the concept of sadomasoquism, which he terms a "monstruo semiológico". By challenging prevailing theories, Deleuze sheds light on the distinct characteristics of sadism and masoquism as clinical entities.
Deleuze argues that understanding these phenomena requires looking beyond the confines of traditional psychoanalysis. He identifies key differences between the "humor" of the masoquist and the "irony" of the sádico, highlighting the need to approach these issues from a literary perspective. Through his work, Deleuze revalues certain theories, including those of Theodor Reik.
This thought-provoking book opens up new avenues of thinking on sadism and masoquism, building on the work of Freud and Lacan while also offering fresh insights. With its unique perspective, Presentación de Sacher-Masoch lo frío y lo cruel is a valuable contribution to philosophical discussions.
